Today was another early start day but only 47 miles. We took multiple pictures of the sunrise coming over the horizon.
We passed a windmill farm of 33 windmills that we could see. This is encouraging for the long term power needs of the area.
I don't have anything brilliant to say about the scenery. It was farms, ranches, and more farms. Traffic picked up considerably, probably because the weekend was over. The shoulders are still pretty good, so we are still feeling safe.
We did pass Heartland Mills Bakery where we stopped for a morning pastry. Heartland Mills makes products for many brands including General Mills.
We met a cyclist from Wales who took our picture and then continued westward. We also caught up with two cyclists going eastbound that we have been riding near for several days.
We got to our hotel before noon, took showers, turned on Wimbledon, and promptly fell asleep. Naps are our latest recurring theme.
In the afternoon, we were joined by Carol Pandak and her husband Steve. Carol will be riding with us for the next few days and Steve will be documenting our progress via his camera. We are delighted they have joined us and are looking forward to riding with Carol.
Today was another great day. I can't believe we are already in Kansas! This trip is going by very quickly!
