June 29 – Riverside, Wyoming to Walden, CO

Written by Eric

We bade farewell to Anne-Renee (AR) who has sagged for us for the past week.  We appreciated her expert and enthusiastic sagging capabilities especially her organizational skills.  Thanks AR!

Alicia’s sagging duties officially started today.  As a native Coloradoan who has lived in Wyoming, we appreciate her knowledge of the area.  She is also an expert on wildlife and can tell the difference between antelope and deer from 200 yards.

The ride today was a relatively easy 48 miles along the Platte River.  The only hard part was when we turned southwest towards Walden and were met by a 20 mph wind from the west with gusts to 25 mph. It was a tough 5 miles until we turned again to go south.

We entered Colorado today and are now finished with our 4th state.  Only 6 more states to go!

A highlight of the day was Alicia spotting two moose, which was appropriate because Walden is the moose watching capital of Colorado. She also found some prairie dogs.
